Repaying relocation benefit

I'm an individual contributor at a company in MA. When I joined, the company offered relocation benefits. They sent me a "Relocation Agreement" along with my offer letter and a copy of the company's relocation expense policy. The "Relocation Agreement" is a 1-page, 2-paragraph document which says that if I voluntarily terminate the employment within 12 months, then I shall repay all the expense and reimbursement. The relo policy says the same thing. I signed the "Relocation Agreement"

Once I started at the firm, my duties and responsibilities have been significantly different from what I was led to believe during the interview. I've raised these issues with my manager, but after several months nothing has changed. And my performance has been quite poor since I am not happy with my job and see that there is nothing I can do to change that.

I have been contemplating 2 options:

1. Suck it up til the 12 months' up
2. Trying to get fired with poor performance, being late, skip meetings, etc..

If I choose #2, by getting fired, that's an involuntary termination, will I still have to repay the relocation expense?

Thanks
