Reducation in bonus rate on the contract after the year is complete.

I work on salary with commission. We have been using a company setup commission plan that requires a spreadsheet to determine commission amount for over two year now. In 2010 I ended up way above goal which put me into the accelleration commission. The amount of accelleration has always shown x3 over 102%. I just received an email stating that there was an error in the formula and it was changed to x2 over 102%, in the company's favor. This change will affect several sales people. Is this legal to change after the year is over?
