My unemployment has been denied, I filed an appeal, and am wondering what my other options are

Was I wrongfully discharged? I worked for a physician for three years. My daughter was employed by same physician for six months. My daughter was offerred another opportunity from another physician. When I was confronted by the physician that he was aware that she was looking at another opportunity and said that if she or any other employee left the practice I would be fired immediately. When meeting with both my daughter and myself the physician asked if my daughter was taking the new job opportunity and she said she wasn't sure but was concerned that he said if she left he woulc fire her mother. The physician said "yes but not just if you left, if any other employee left". I was fired immediately after my daughter gave written notice. The physician was furious.

First, you need to talk to an employment attorney near you promptly. Second, it appears that this is either retaliation (not certain if illegal)or an attempt to impose conditions of involuntary servitude by insisting a family member stay or you will be fired.

Bring all your facts and notes on what this doctor said to both of you and consult an employment lawyer. You can find one near you at www.oelasmart.net/directory
