My high school called a mandatory meeting where they told us that TEA may start school in September instead of august. They said that they would take 1/12 out of each check and hold it for us until September. School started in August but they didn't give
I requested a copy of all my pay checks and couldn't find where they deducted any money. I personally know of 2other teachers who did the same as I. ( 1 still in the district the other left to another district). We were told by our teacher organization (TSTA) that it wasn't illegal just unethical. When AFT heard about it they where excited until they found out I had talked to TSTA first which prohibited them from getting involved
