Moving to different state - Severance Pay - State tax withholding
I was laid off in MD and my severance runs till end of February in 2019. I've obtained a new job in a state(set to begin on jan 1,2019) that doesn't charge income tax, so for my severance checks in Jan and Feb, would i still get taxes based on MD tax rates even if I tell old employer about my new address in the new state? What are my options?
