Last November I told the VP of HR in confidence (and she assured me the same) about a potential health situation that may require me to taken a few weeks off. Fortunately, it turned out to be a false scare. Just stress and sleep deprivation. However, my VP of HR suddenly demoted me and told at least 4 people that I can’t be a Director because I have health issues. I never asked for accommodations or FMLA while going through the tough phase. But now she is using it as an excuse to demote me. Is that legal, especially discussing it with others?
