Is this age discrimination?
I am 58 and have worked for a large company for the last 4 years. My reviews have all been excellent. The company has went through several layoffs where they stated positions were being eliminated only to hire younger and I'm sure lower paid employees to fill the void. Now this has happened to me. I was the only person as a working Manager doing a vital position. They say the position is being eliminated but it cant be as the business could not operate without this position. They just gave a young person a new role which has a different title but the plan is to have this person take over things I was doing at a much lower wage.
