Is my non compete agreement enforceable?

I signed a non compete with a lawn maintenance company called Floralawn who has been doing buisness in Lakeland for 19 years. I started off as the Account Manager and then they changed my title to Landscape Manager where they changed my title but no monetary changes I signed the agreement 6 months after working there. There are many errors in the form which seems generic and very broad. I started a small freelance landscape design business and they say I need to cease and decist. I have a degree and their company deals 85% in Lawn Maintenance and some landscape. The contract states Floralawn a lawn maintenance business. I was fired because I questioned my bosses follow thru. He asked me to do unethical things in the commuinty to try to win contracts from competitors. Would unethical business practices be a defense or that it does not state that I cannot do Landscape Design which is a different trade from lawn maintenance? Please help!!

Non-compete agreements are enforceable in general. In order to comment on your particular non-compete agreement, I would need to see the agreement. Also, I would need to discuss with you further the facts and circumstances leading up to your signing of the agreement and termination of your employment. These facts could provide you with certain defenses. Contact my office is you wish.
