In a RIF..is it possible for them to offer me a demotion to avoid paying me severance if I decline
I have been with the company for almost ten years, and would be given a decent severance if laid off. However, I concerned that in light of some things I've been told lately, I'm worried that I might be demoted rather than laid off. I cannot afford a reduction in pay at this point, even a small one. I have been a good employee, and have never been disciplined.
