If I can not return to my position full time(5 days 40 hrs) and can return 4 days 32hrs

does my company have the option to turn down I work 32hrs instead of 40 if I can achieve the same results in that amount of time? If yes can I file for unemployment since I can not return fulltime and only 32hrs?
