I was recently offered a 2 week severance. I signed the agreement after reading it carefully. Other co-workers refused to sign it because they thought if they signed the agreement that they would not be able to apply for unemployment.
After a consolidation of departments the company I worked for offered a severance to any employee who was not able to move to another department.
