I was given a written employment offer which was based on me passing background check. I was told verbally it passed and given my start schedule. after quitting current job the offer was rescinded saying they did not get back the background check. what ca

4 days before my last day the potential employer sent an email saying that my background report hadn't come thru. He had already told me a week prior it was clear. I waited for his word to put in my final notice at current job. 2 days after saying it didn't come yet he said it finally did and was being reviewed. 2 weeks after being unemployed with no income he said I had some charges that I needed to dispute and then to contact him. I never had said charges and have not had any kind of trouble in 7 or more years. The charge 7 years ago was given a withheld judgement and the last guilty conviction was drug related and over 10 years ago.
