I told my employer I had a Dr's appointment. He then shared that info with his domicile partner.

He then told his domicile partner, who is NOT an officer of the company. The significant other then called my personal practitioner's office inquiring about my appointment, and when frustrated my Dr's office wouldn't tell her any information, made statements against me to my doctor. I feel that my employer had no right to do so, and committed an illegal act when he shared my appointment information to someone outside of the company and to whom he claims he isn't married to. Am I correct in this thinking?
