non solicitation clause- Texas

I started my employment with former employer in 2001 (professional services). In 2012, the firm made everyone sign a non compete which included non solicitation of former employees. In 2017 I changed employers to oil and gas industry (not a direct or indirect competitor of the former employer). 6 months later I reached out to a few friends from the former employer asking them if they are open to have a conversation about changing industries. I received a demand email form the my former employer threatening injunction, legal fees etc. Is that enforceable?
