I receive a weekly salary, I called in sick 2 days of last week, Fri & Sat, when I received my paycheck, I was docked for the entire week. I had worked 32 hours that week. I also receive a 1099. In addition, if we fall short of 40 hours, our pay is deducted to reflect hours missed, but we are not paid overtime when more than 40 is worked. This is the 2nd time I have had my pay docked, last time it was due to "not calling in before my scheduled shift" 1st thing, we didn't have a written schedule issued for my office, we were just told all shifts needed to be covered, but the other 2 employees had quit, I was the only one left at that office and usually worked a 1-9 shift on that day. I called in at 11 am. Can they get away with this... I intend on speaking with the owner Monday, what laws do I reference he's violated. Again, I am 1099'd
