Can i take do anything more

The owner would say "you did not have kids when I hired you". I had to miss 3 days of work while my supervisor had missed two of those same days to go with her husband to take his father to have a colonoscopy. Returning to work I had my Dr. Note, at the end of the day the owner stated he wanted to see me in his office. He starts off by saying " What am I going to do with you, I said I don't know sir. he says "im going to say it to you again, you did not have kids when I hired you, I said I know sir, he says "im going to take you off of salary and put you on hourly. I said ok, then I asked if I could say something he said 'yes'. I said I feel like I am being discriminated against because I had to get custody of my grandchildren. I said Ruth and he interrupted me saying don't say it and as I tried to finish he said that's it your outta here. So I left. Of course he tried to say I quit but I got my unemployment benefits on just that. Can I take this further I lost my job on 4/18/16
