I let go for poor job performance after 15 years of employment

Feb 12 2011 my company gave me two weeks of severance. The HR manager said I could not negotiate because it was not a layoff. Normally in a layoff and in some firings my company gives 2 weeks per year up two 26 weeks. I cashed the check but never signed the severance agreement they asked me to sign. My boss was in California. My office of record was in New Jersey and I live in Delaware. Can I seek any compensation or is it too late? I believe they set me up with an impossible project in which I would fail thereby getting me a poor performance report the giving me 30 days to improve they gave me 7 days until they fired me.
