I have been accused of sleeping at my desk and using profane and racist language. Both are not true and not opinions. As a result of these accusations I have been demoted and feel that my job is now threatened. Is there anything I can do that would restor
I have worked in my current job for over 4.5 years. I manage a staff of 8 people. I work as a government contractor. Recently (with in the last 8 months) I have hired 2 new employees. The government agency I work for has made the organization I support its own, separate organization. As a result many new federal employees have been hired. A couple of months ago I had a meeting with my administrative employees and asked that they limit their socializing and not have conversations in high traffic areas. A day after this meeting one of the administrative assistants disappeared for over 2 hours with a contractor from another company. When she returned I asked to speak with her and told her not to disappear like that again. A couple days later I was informed that someone (other contractor that spoke with my Admin Asst) had told the client - federal client - that I was sleeping at my desk. This a false statement. A couple of days after that the other companies contractor asked to be moved to another location (we sat back to back) because I was using profane and racist language (again, false statements). This week I was informed by my manager that the client said if I was not removed as a supervisor for the 2 admins, my company would never again be considered for available positions they had available and that they would most likely not renew our contract next year. I am a white male, the other 4 people are all African Americans. I feel that I am being persecuted because of my race and all of the accusations are complete lies. My job is in jeopardy and I am distracted very much by what is happening to me. Is there anything I can do to manage this situation and restore my reputation? Do I have any legal premise to work with?
Thank you.
