I am a CA non-exempt employee. I normally work a 7:30am - 4:00pm shift. On a particular day I worked from 7:00am to 3:30pm and my employer paid me 30 minutes of OT from 7:00am - 7:30am and then took away 30 minutes of my PTO for 3:30pm - 4:00pm. I only worked 8 hours, this does not make sense. Is it legal?
