Hi. General question about severance. I work part time but now my employer has said I now have to be full time starting 8/1 or leave. Would this be eligible for severance pay?

I was hired in as a part time employee. My employer has now said they need me full time and will not offer part time employment. The position hasn't changed and the job would be the same-just 40 hours instead of 20.
