Employer did not follow up on my grandson's physical assault complaint

Grandson was serving on bar when father of the bride came and requested a certain kind of rum. My grandson apologized saying he did not have that brand, but maybe the other bar could have it. The man wanted my grandson to go get the rum for him, but grandson explained he was alone at his post and was not allowed to leave. The man got into the space of my grandson and grabbed him by arm, shaking him and demanding my grandson to go. Management intervened and asked my grandson to write about the incident. He did, and after a year my grandson is waiting for them to get back with him. That was a year ago; he does not work there anymore. Can my grandson still press charges against the employer, concerning this situation or go after the man that assaulted? (Casa Monica Hotel in St Augustine, while tending on a 1/2 million wedding)
