Do to all the privacy laws I am wondering if a school support staff contract can be public knowledge

I served as the Elementary Secretary for approximately 9 years. During this time I was diagnosed with breast cancer and took a leave of absence. I had no problem after my treatments and was able to return to work. I was given my job back with the same pay I left. Two years later in August 07 I was diagnosed with AML ( Leukemia). They hired a girl who work a little over 2 years on a temporary contract until I was able to return to work. I tried several times to come back to work, but due to a low immune system I continued to get sick, and it took me longer to recover from my illnesses. I had to taken another leave of absence. The girl who was taking my place resigned this school term 2010-2011 for another job. They hired another lady to take the secretarial position. I asked and asked about my job, and was told not to worry about it they understood I needed time to heal. I just found out on 9-20-2010 that I am no longer the Secretary. I was trying to work a few hours a week to get back into it to see if I was going to be able to work. When I showed up to work there was never anything for me to do. I couldn't have my office back. I was offered another position to cover themselves. I feel I have been lied to and mislead this entire school year. I feel like this lady was hired as a fulltime employee, and my boss wouldn't tell me my job was no longer as the Secretary. Is there any way I can find out what her contract says. Whether she signed a temporary contract or a fulltime position. My boss has lied to me, and I feel that I have been forced out of my job. I have never been given a bad evaluation. I was punctual, kind spoken, did more than what was required of me. The school board hasn't requested me to see a 2nd or 3rd doctor as of to date. I know it says they can, and they don't have to hold my job, but offer me a job that fits my disability. I don't feel that putting me in a classroom full of sick kids since my immune system is already compromised is in my best interest. Do I have any recourse in getting my old job back?
