Direct Family Member Non Compete Clause

My present employer was recently sold, and my father was a shareholder in the company. In the purchase agreement there is a clause that says no shareholder or direct family member may obtain employment or ownership with a direct competitor. I personally did not sign a non compete, and I am considering taking a job offer from a direct competitor. Would there be any way this could be enforced without me personally signing a non compete?
