Can my job decline to allow me to use my intermittent fmla for my autistic child

I put in over 30 days notice to take time off to take care of my autistic child while her childcare provider was away, which was over looked due to my job letting people go and change who handles requests. When time came I used my intermittent fmla to cover those 3 days. Can my job decline to allow me to use my intermittent fmla for my autistic child stating I called off due to no childcare
