Can my employer force me to quit if I can't change my schedule to a completely different one?

I have one full time job working mornings, and I have a second part time job working nights. My full time employer fired another employer, then told me I would have to change to night shifts. I explained that with my other obligations I could not do that. The next day they told me they would allow me two weeks to decide if I was going to take the night schedule or if I would be quitting. So, I went to the director of operations and she said the same thing. That regardless of what obligations and circumstances I have, if I do not change my schedule she would have to ask me to quit. Just want to know, is this legal? Can they do this?
