Can a former employer force you to pay for an invoice they were unable to collect?
My boyfriend was fired from his job in November. Now, in March, his former boss is threatening to disparage him with his current employer or sue him if he does not pay her for accounts that were uncollected. He was a sales person for the company and one of the accounts he sold to never paid their bill. Is this legal? Can she force him to pay her? Can he sue her if she contacts his current employer?
