Can I take action against my former employer or former coworker for stealing/lying to get me fired?

I was recently fired from my sales job, I couldn't imagine what my boss wanted to talk to me about, he said that a coworker of mine said that I had tried to sell them staples gift cards. My boss gets these gift cards in the mail as a rebate and they were taken out of the mail and had been confirmed as spent when he looked into the matter. The person who reported me is the only one who goes through our mail every day (which is where I was accused of taking them from). He had nothing but her word (which he trusts to the end of the world despite no knowledge of her legal history), and fired me.
