Can I sue my employer???

I broke my fibula on the job 11-9-17. I broke it walking back to the office from my vehicle on a rainy/ hailing day, ( mind you I work at a gas station ), I had in my hand a small bouncy ball I had forgotten was in my back pocket of the jeans I was wearing looking like a eye ball 🤦🏻‍♀️ And as I went to take it out, it got away from me and as I stepped forward to teach out and grab it I slipped on the companies steel round plates they have in the ground covering the fuel tanks underground that hold all the companies gasoline.. It's now been 12 weeks and today I was told, my fibula is healed 70% and I now have to start physical therapy, I was told by my employer to go against my orthopedics guidelines and wants, and to have a different dr. Give me a emergency release not back to work by last Monday(11weeks post break) or I'm terminated, or someone else may be hired in place of me. (Mind you my next ortho apt. Was scheduled for 1-18-18, that following Thursday(today)! Today I was told my fibula is not healing correctly and it's only at 70%, and with the way it broke putting pressure on it consistently is causing it to heal at a angle and make my whole foot go in-wards. I'm still waiting on workmans Comp my case is still in deferred status😟 I can't lose my job. I'm a single mother.. Is there something else I should be doing legal wise?
