Agency failure to follow own rules.

According to a written policy, the use of corporal punishment will be grounds for immediate termination, an employee made those allegations against me on May 5, 2009. My supervisors adressed them on May 8th. After the children were questioned, she allowed me to go back into the classroom until the last day May 22,2009. This was the day I was told I would not be returning.Was this fair?
