is a Non-compete contract required in AZ?

I am a health care provider looking to resign my employment at a subspecialty firm, to work for a hospital-based group that is not related to that subspecialty or its type of care provided. My contract contains no non-competition section. It does however, have a non-solicitation section (12 month duration). I am confident that I would not be in breach of. Can I be forced to sign a non-compete agreement at time of resignation or prior to? I am not seeking or being offered any severance pay or other benefit upon resignation, nor am I seeking any. In not signing one, am I in danger of litigation? I am interested in legal advice. How could I best facilitate a search for legal advice in this matter?
