Without any malice or incident, I gave my 2 weeks notice yesterday; this morning I was fired. I've been here 2 years and it's my only reference. How do I get this off my record? Since I was fired, do I get unemployment?

I've been with the company 2 years; almost all of that time as an assistant manager; I've had no problems or write ups. Because of all of the hours of homework from starting college, I gave my 2 weeks notice yesterday and this morning was fired. This is the only job I've had and can't tell employers I was fired and need this job reference for the future. Is this legal in Colorado? Do I file for unemployment since I was fired?
