What can be done about a co-worker who falsely accused you something you didn't do

I work in HR. A coworker stated I gave out her salary information to a another coworker. Upon doing an investigation it was found not to be true. Her salary proposal was on one of the drives that can be viewed by anyone. She never got reprimanded or was never made to apologize for what she had done. I was told this could of cost me my job. I need to know what should have been done to this employee because it looks like she got away with this and what if she does it again.
