So just over a week ago I got hired to do front desk as a super 8 hotel. I was thrilled because I've been doing housekeeping at various places for the last 15yrs. And I've always wanted to do front desk. So I did this course online thats required to start this job. And my first night of what I believed would be my training I was informed that I had two days to learn everything and then I'd be on my own. I was worried because I had a ton of questions about certain things and no one including my boss/owner seemed to want answer any of them. He as well as my so called trainer expected even though I'd never done front desk that I needed to just shut up and do what they wanted. Well my first night alone wasn't very pretty I made some mistakes that my boss thought because I'd watched the disks I should have known although I'd had little to no training. So flash forward after 3 nights alone and then my scheduled days off I came in for my weekend shift doing what I'm used to which was housekeeping. First it was beyond disorganized nothing was folded or anything. The girl that was working with me wouldn't answer any of my questions other than to say we either don't have that or it's in you closet. Nothing was in the closet with my cart. I soon realized we didn't have the amount of towels for the rooms we are supposed to clean or enough sheets for that matter. So I did my rooms while he's coming up to tell me to run off all my air conditioners even though it was 109° out. So we finally finish. And she leaves I'm scheduled for a double shift. So I go down stairs and he asks me if I did a particular room and I inform him that he never answered me as to if I needed to and it wasn't on my sheet so no I didnt and he starts in on me about he's disgusted that this wasn't done. So I said ok I'll go clean it he comes up and sees the bed is broken so we try to fix it to no avail and eventually he decides to put it offline. So he starts checking the rooms I did and I had put a bedspread on the wrong way and that's when he loses it and starts screaming at me and I mean getting in my face screaming! And this is all out in the open and so then he takes me into a room and really lays into me. All the while I'm trying to find out just what it is that i din do right. And I point out that he didn't train me on how he likes his rooms done. And he screams at me again calling me a liar and saying I've obviously never done housekeeping. And at this point I'm crying so hard I can't breathe and I walked out. I went to the office thinking he'd leave me alone and cool off. Instead he comes back yelling even more. That's when I pointed out we didn't have even close to what we needed to properly do our rooms and he denied it. Now ive decided not to go back because I'm not going to deal with being screamed at I was honestly terrified being in that room with him. But I don't want anybody else to deal with this is there anything I can do or anybody I can report him to?
