Set up for failure and discarded because of being an older female.

I was hired by a consulting company as a high level validation lead. The circumstances of the job opening up were not shared with me. The young man who had the position before me refused to abide by the unrealistic deadlines and the job duties, which were essentially that of a data entry person, not of a skilled engineering professional. This young man was taken off the project by the client. My employer tricked me into moving from New Jersey to Indiana, whereby I incurred expenses that were not reimbursed by the company. I did my level best to meet the job demands, working many overtime hours, but my skills are cerebral rather than manual. I too was taken off the project and after a two week paid period laid off by my employer. They promised that they would look for a new assignment for me, but two months have passed and I was not called back to work. On the other hand, the young male whom I replaced is still working for the company at the same location and so is another young male who was on lay-off at the time I was hired. I, an elderly female, am disposable.

age discrimination

Dear Margaret: It seems that you are not really asking a question, but giving information to see if the attorneys would be interested in taking your case. The best way to analyze your potential for an age discrimination suit is to call so we can have a dialogue. Email is very difficult for assessing a case. You can reach me at 317-251-1929. I do not charge for phone consults.
