Separate agreement doesn't state ending payments if find a new job. Do I still get paid?

I recently received a separation agreement from my employer that states I will receive weeks of pay if I stay with the company through the end of the month. No where in the actual agreement does it state if I accept a new job outside of the company will I forfeit the severance pay. I was told verbally by my manager that I would lose my severance as soon as I start a new job. Even if the start date is after my agreed upon stay through date. I live in MN, I need to know if that is legal, or if it is true, or if they have to pay me regardless of me getting a job outside the company as long as I hold up my end of the agreement and it doesn't state that in the written agreement? I do not have a new job yet, but I have interviewed and have more set up. I feel I will have something quickly vs. waiting months.
