Salary expressed as
My position as Operations Manager was eliminated last week due to business conditions. I am being paid till the end of the month. I started my job there one year ago and in my offer letter my "starting base salary" was expressed as "$90,000 per annum". With an earlier employer, we were instructed to always express salary as an amount per pay period (e.g. biweekly). It was explained that, when a salary was expressed as per annum or yearly, the (ex)employee could make a case that he/she was entitled to the entire annual sum. Is this indeed the case?
