Protected Class compliance when theatre mission's to increase voice of women over 40 and minorities?

Hi! I am part of a group of people in the early stages of formalizing a theatre company with a mission to increase the representation of women over 40 and minorities on stage. I want to make sure we aren't getting into trouble with Protected Class issues and want to find out what we can and cannot do as far as casting actors, hiring staff, and recruiting members of the board.
