Privacy when employed in our own home

We provide Adult foster care in our home to one disabled client. We were recently told that VA state Licensure representatives could come into our bedroom, in our private area in which the client does not live or enter, to check cleanliness, etc... with no warning, whenever they liked. This feels like a violation of our rights, not to have private, protected space in our own home! This area has nothing to do with our client and even if it does pass their inspection, I still do not want them in there! Is this actually legal? Please help!

Thank you,
W.L.
