Potential employer asked about husband's criminal record during interview. Is it legal?
During second interview for Accounting Manager job I was asked about my husband's criminal record. It's been 2 weeks since last interview and recruiter tells me that the employer has not made a decision yet. I signed consent for my background check prior to the second interview, but was not provided with a copy of the background check they obtained. Was it legal for them to research my husband's background?
