Overpaied by employer
Since the beginning of the year my commision checks were overpaid. This was questioned by myself and others from the sales department and we were told not to worry everything was all right.In may we were informed that a mistake had been made and that we had to repay the overpayment and a pecentage would be taken from all future pay until this amount was paid back. Is this legal since the mistake was questioned from the begining? and if so what percentage can be taken from a pay check for repayment.
If it makes a difference I work as a car salesperson.
