I work for an apartment community whose company owns a construction company also. They built three apartment communities and I'm one of the maintenance supervisors that managed The fountains of Meadowood. Back in December 1 they sold the three apartment communities and kept their construction company, four weeks later I had My Boss contacted the HR department because we had not received anything about our cobra insurance. They told her that they hadn't canceled our policy yet and when they did we would then receive something about our cobra. I called the insurance company to find out if our policy was still active and she told me they had canceled it December 1 that's the day they sold properties so now I believe they're giving us a run around. What should we do about this? It is now February 7th and I need my dental insurance.

I would first contact the employer directly rather than through an intermediary. It is a COBRA violation to not send you timely notice of your election rights and the employer may be liable for a statutory penalty for failing to provide that notice.
