Non-Solicitation Enforcement

I had left a company that I had been at for 6 years. I forgot that, at the start of my employment, I had signed a non-solicitation agreement. I offered one of my former colleague as position at my new company. It was then pointed out that I had signed the agreement. At that point, I recended the offer and obviosuly did not hire him. Could my former employer still come after me for violation of the agreement?
