Non Compete agreement and bonus

Hi,

I'm located in Western VA and have a general question regarding a noncompete agreement.

I was hired in 2015 for my position in sales and with this, I had to sign a NCA. In my offer letter, there is no mention of my bonus structure, only my salary is documented. However, I am paid salary + bonus. Here is my question.

Last month and without warning, my company significantly reduced our bonuses by 25%. I have documentation of the old bonus structure vs. the new structure. With this reduction, it'll significantly change my income causing me to seek new employment. My fear is, I will have a hard time finding an employer outside of my specific sector of sales.

Did my employer breach my NDA by reducing our bonus? I believe I would have a leg to stand on as this reduction wil cause a hardship. I have a nice local opportunity but it's for our competition. Please advise.

Thank you
