Non-Compete Length of Service

If I enter into a non-compete agreement with a new employer, is there a typical amount of time that I would need to stay employed by that company in order for it to be binding, enforceable? For instance, if I were to leave the company within 30 days am I bound to it. Is this just something that I have written into the agreement and is this typical?

Noncompete

No required amount of work time is needed to have a binding noncompete agreement. It is just dependent on the language of the contract. I would advise you, however, to refrain from signing any non-compete agreements. I have yet to meet any employees who are left benefitting from these agreements.
