I had had decent reviews and had been made company spokesperson in July of 2018, had two surgeries but was back at work within 2 weeks of each. turned 60 in Jan 2019 and had my position eliminated along with about 20 others in March 2019. I had to agree I wouldn't sue the company in order to get the minimum severance package that was offered despite having nearly 7 years of service. 8 months after my dismissal, they promoted my 37-ish subordinate to my position. Certainly an unethical move on the part of my former company, seems to be discrimanatory even if I had to sign rights away to get a severance package.
