My physician is refusing to allow my husband to take FMLA to care for me after my back surgery.

My recovery is at least 6 weeks and we were asking for just 2 weeks on the FMLA paperwork. The Doctor wrote in that i would need care for at least 2 weeks but then in the length of time needed he filled in only
2 days. When I contacted the doctors office to clarify this, I was told that the doctor signed off on the paperwork and this is what he wants and it can not be changed. I need help at home while recovering. I don't understand why he will not cooperate with us. Is there anything we can do to get him to accurately fill out the papers? If my recovery is at least 6 weeks then why wouldn't he allow my husband to assist in my care for 2 weeks? Is this allowed by my doctor?
