In 2012 I was hurt on the job. After seeing specialists and therapists I was offered a settlement. I asked lawyer to just accept it but was told that I had to sign another form before they'd do that. I asked why and what did it state. The attorney said that the original fee they were charging me was not sufficient and instead of the agreed upon 10% they wanted 20%. I refused and was told I couldn't get the check until I signed those papers or paid them the 20%. They said if I attempted to that they'd file s lien and I'd still have to pay it. I haven't touched it yet but need this money now. What can I do? Can I do anything it an I out of time? I still suffer from those injuries have bills that were never paid with regard to the injuries on the job.
