My competition which I never worked for forged my name on a non compete,

I started a business with a partner, we were off to a great start. Our competition was getting pushed out of our area. I recieved a call from my competition yelling at me stating we were in his area, and taking all of his accounts. I told him more or less tough luck, he then added you signed a non compete contract with me......backing up, I was approached by this guy a year and a half earlier to sell his product, under no concideration I let him give me his sales pitch, no details on how to make it....etc, just compensation. I then told him no thanks. Moving forward.....I told him you are crazy and to give me a copy of this forged contract. A week later I recieved a letter from his attorney with an order to shut down now or face a $ 50,000 lawsuit. So I called his attorney and stated this contract never happened, and I want a copy. Two weeks later I got my copy and its very clear its not my signature. One week after that this guy called my partner and told him I did indeed signed it and he was getting suid for $ 50,000. Three weeks later my partner scared out of his mind said I'm done and the company was shut down. I did reserve the rights to my material in Minnesota, and in the month of Feb. 09 my competition tried 5 times to buy it from my supplier, going as far as faxing this forged contract to him on his own with-out request from my supplier in order to argue and discredit me enough so he could buy, This supplier is in S.C.I'm going through a lawsuit with my x partner now concerning assets, once complete I want this guy next. I have started a new business doing the same but am having trouble growing due to the slander this other guy is spreading. What are my rights here, What can I do, what charges do I have against this guy, and what kind of compensation am I looking at for the damage in reputation, loss in business and all my new legal - start up costs.
