Is working for for the Company's Customers (direct or indirect) restrict working for a competitor?

I signed a Terms and COnditions of Employment form which states "I agree not to perform any work for any of the Company's customers (either direct or indirect) mean I cannot work for a competitor in a different capacity? I am a PM working on a contract and may need to quit my current position. Can I work for another competing company in a non-PM capacity if I don't support the customet, meaningI am not charged as overhead or direct funded by the customer.
