Is there anything thing to protect me legally? May I have legal advice?

I am currently on short-term disability and have been since June 28 for depression and anxiety and a few other health issues. I was recently informed by a co-worker that it was overheard that my manager plans to terminate me tomorrow Nov 4, if I don't come in. My therapist advised me that more time is needed for she wants me to see a psychiatrist first upon returning. My therapist put in a request for a extension with my short-term caseworker and the request was approved for a return to work day of 12-4 but I don't think that would matter now since they plan on terminating me tomorrow for not returning tomorrow. For they did not tell me personally their plan to release me but a team lead informed me of their plans. So I will like to know is their anything to protect me legally? Before going on leave I receive a good performance review, and I was meeting production and quality was very good. I am searching for some legal advice any help would be appreciated. Thank You!
